A new system would cost a hell of a lot less (at least 2x less, if not more), PLUS you'd be getting vastly superior performance boosts over your current rig.

Whole new system will most likely cost less.
You can get a Refurbished Dell desktop for 150$ with a I5-4590 + 8GB Ram and 500GB HDD.
+ You add a GTX 1650 (150$) and you get a really basic and working ''low-end Gaming'' desktop for 300$. If he got a little extra may spend +30$ for a 250GB SSD.

Plus, i'm not sure where OP is from but he can most likely get something used/craiglist with much better specs for less than 300$.

can get mobo/cpu/cooler all for under 100 used easily.
(mobo 20-40$ / cpu 10$ / cooler 20$)

I'm not saying he absolutely should but its totally a option where as previously he was told it wasn't.

Replace board if needed.
Have a q6600 Go stepping model (oc'd ideally or higher socket 775 or a pin modded cpu) with a 1050ti.

Cheapest upgrade path aside from a whole new system.

is that a motherboard lmao i really dont know much about building pcs

i love this laptop does everything I need it to do I was told it can just barely run the game I want needing these specs

all and all really dont want to buy a new system if I did would probably have a friend help build it spending like max 500 really would comfortably like to spend 300 usd $$

but if I really have to I can wait it out till they drop the game for ps4 in December lol

Your laptop doesn't have a Thunderbolt 3 port so egpu wouldn't be an option.

Buying new Motherboard + CPU + cooler will cost you at least 100$ + 150$ GPU = 250$ minimum.

If i was you i'd consider
1. Getting a new PC (Buy a refurb one from dell, buy a GFX card, install windows 10 and your good to go for 300-350$
2. Buy one used, i just checked on Craiglist and there is a Dell I5 3570 + 10GB Ram with GTX 1050ti all for 300$ in chinatown NYC

Its the cpu.
If you wanna go that rate I can list parts on eBay and you can just order em.
But I'd have to see what's available when home.
If you can me a zip code I could look on craigslist in ur area as well.

Also reddit hardwareswap can usually yeild a cheap
Mobo/cpu/ram combo..
I grabbed for instance 4790k/mobo/16gb ram for 150 like 2 years ago.
