I followed a few guides that said that I only need to copy the installer and then I can enter the second cdkey for the copy. But somehow I never get the possibility to install it twice, when I open the launcher it automatically gives the option play and when I unistall it all the files are gone?

Move the installed copy to an external hard drive.

If you installed the Diablo II game folder firstly for example in D:/Games/Diablo II , copy the folder from there and paste it on the desktop , rename that desktop's Diablo II folder to for example D3 , cut that D3 folder and place it somewhere in D:/ again but not at the same place where Diablo II folder is , maybe in D:/Software/D3 or D:/New folder/D3 , ect...
You can now open 1x game.exe from the Diablo II folder and 1x game.exe from the D3 folder

I adjusted my trash folder storage and temp replaced the original d2 with a copy
