Do you mean the top right ? Under User stats ?

If so go to settings on the top left corner, then Change personal photo, remove the URL

You can't remove the border around the image.

The only options you have is to either expand the transparent part of the image, that way the border isn't directly next to it or you can use a different d2jsp theme for your profile with a less noticeable border.
