So, i wonder, is there anything special about heavy weapons?

Are they slower or cant wear with charms, or what is it?

They are slower but they do more damage.

I personally don’t bother with heavy weapons just because they are extremely difficult to find (especially ones with decent ee)

Yup, normal weapons can attack once per second. Heavy weapons take 1.8 seconds per attack but to make up for it, they do double damage at equivalent level and enhanced effect. Additionally, they drop a LOT less commonly, so there are far fewer available and they can be worth quite a bit, although the number of players using them is much smaller. One other thing: they cannot be rerolled using transmuting (although they can still be stripped for essences).

Also, you have a mod called Quick Draw that helps you attack faster when it activates.
Caution: Using Auto Attack mode and having around 25% Quick Draw can interrupt you if you want to EXIT catacomb before dying.
