Scientologists believe that an Alien race had a cosmic war.. and the losing Aliens were then taken to earth, dropped in volcanos, became immortal spirits with no memory of their lives, and fly around the earth causing problems for people because they don't remember they were once peaceful aliens... basically if you are mentally Ill, it's because an Alien spirit who 'thinks' it's a demon or something is tormenting you because they can't remember being Aliens... also Cancer, HIV, any disease is caused by these wandering braindead Alien ghosts

As opposed to Christians who think...

There was a war in heaven, and the losing side was dropped into a lake of fire, and those demons fly around Earth causing problems for people, and diseases are caused by "sin" which happened because God got mad.

everytime Scientology comes up, I'm gonna refer to it as "Demons of Scientology" just to troll everyone on the interwebs

Actually they were dropped into the volcano and a force field was put up around the earth to prevent them from reincarnating anywhere but earth and then they were fed a shit ton of fake history (human history) and they possessed the intelligent life on this planet and have been reincarnating here ever since the mental illness comes from them (us) not knowing who or what they(we) really are. The "god" you spoke of is an evil space overlord named xenu whose idea all of this "lets trap the undesirables on earth" stuff was. That is more or less the gist of what scientologists believe in. Its ridiculous that l ron hubbard (a super popular science fiction writer at the time) really got away with making this ish up and having people believe him. So much so that hes dead at this point and not only are they looking for his reincarnation but they are all still actively believing his bs.
