So a 580 or 590 and possible ram upgrades should see me some improvements?
How worth it is the upgrade to 16gb ram and am I better off getting another 8gb stick or just getting a single 16gb stick

You want to run in dual channel if at all possible.

majority of games dont benefit from it but there are few that do if I remember right it was like a few

but overall system usage outside of gaming I would still go dual or more

I mean it's not gonna double his performance, but there's still a general noticeable difference as soon as you do anything that needs to load to/from system memory.

only older articles exist on this that are like 3+yrs old, but gaming strictly wise nothing sticks out small improvement or even hit

be nice if someone did a 35-50 game round up on this with single vs dual, frequency and timings
I cant remember if there was one strictly on ryzen though for single vs dual with frequency and timings in place but I cant find it

certain games like arma and fo4 for sure love ram speed timings etc etc etc, edit and ofc apus

Ryzen scales much harder with memory speed than Intel. LTT, GN, Hardware Unboxed, have all done videos backing this up. I'm on mobile rn but you can look up Linus' video on it, and the difference between 2133 and 3000 was like 10%. And if you're on single channel, you all benefits of the double data rate.

amd ryzen is super ram dependent for performance so single vs dual might do a lot tbh.
