"Thursday Update: After many tests and two biopsies they can only find lung tissue with serious infection!! Woohoo! I never thought I’d be cheering for her to have a serious infection! This is great news although things are still complicated. The doctors are telling us that Emma is quite famous right now as many doctors are involved and sending her scans and tests to colleagues because she’s such a bizarre case. The infection is so bad that she has suffered some collapsing of the left lung and will need to stay here in Boston for another 10 days to receive a rigorous regiment of antibiotics followed with x ray scans to monitor her progress. They still believe there is some root cause to the infection, possibly a congenital lung defect, cyst, or malformation of the lung. The issue right now for them, is that figuring out the root cause is difficult, because the infection is so dense and they can’t see anything. Their hope is to clear the infection up over the next 10 days and then to do a CT Scan. At that time they are saying she would probably need a surgery to remedy whatever the underlying issue is. Even though a surgery in this location is high risk, all of this news is far better than the alternative of it being a cancerous mass!! Thank you again for all your prayers, love, and support. Please continue to pray as she still has a bit of a long road ahead to seeing her body fully healed! Love you all!"
