thankfully no injuries and minor damage as they were able to put it out from the reports I've seen

supposedly there was graffiti referencing new zealand but don't think those details have been released yet

will have to wait for the investigation to get further along to see what all happened but fortunately nobody hurt in whatever ended up happening there

unbelievable if true... why are people such stupid assholes? not just their utter disregard for human life, but also... how on earth can they think that attacking random innocent people will help "their cause"?
a race war or religious war cant be won when 90% of your own group are repulsed by your actions and side with the other group...

with only minor damage (it was put out before the fire department even arrived) and no serious injuries (I think around 7 people were there at the time according to reports) it's possible it may have just been a kid being dumb or some sort of hoax/fraud situation

it is being investigated as arson and a possible hate crime, with all the technology and cameras floating around out there these days we will probably find out one way or another what went on

lets hope it really was just a dumb kid or something like that

Because suicides have clustered around those who lost loved ones in either Parkland or Sandy Hook recently. It's not uncommon that this is the case and why post-traumatic grief counseling is increasingly implemented after mass shootings.

Very possible that the same thing happens in the aftermath of NZ. Hopefully not though. I think there's convincing argument mass shootings involve a social contagion element, and we already know this to be the case with suicide. It's a double-whammy for those who survive/lost a loved one to a mass shooting.

I love the idea that this anti-liberty wacko happens to be a near replica of nazis, is an ethnonationalist socialist, , spends 1 sentence talking about how he admires how Trump became a "symbol" for racists, then spent two pages insulting Trump and talking about how he could never support the guy because he's just a milk toast moderate who doesn't favor white people at all, and the media is going off about how he was a "Far right conservative Trump supporter."

Oh, that and it being illegal to actually download and read the manifesto in New Zealand now, to get some idea of where the guy was actually coming from.
