Went to a game of bar trivia for the first time. Had a chance at 2nd place but we got the last question wrong. Not bad for a first time though.

What was the question?

I've gone twice now, got 2nd both times. The first one I went to I was with some buddies who play pretty often though. I did good on certain categories, but one of my friends in particular carried us pretty hard.

What was the tribe that Palestinia was associated with in the Trojan war? (something like that)

It was just me and one other friend. Teams could have up to 8 people. Not surprised we lost, but we exceeded my expectations nonetheless. Neither of us are really trivia buffs. I only watch Jeopardy and read random articles; I don't apply myself to the game.

It was the same for me. Both times I went I played with two friends and both times we lost to a group of eight that were wearing matching shirts lol. I love Jeopardy, but I'm sub-par at it. There's usually one or two categories I can run, but if I hit over 30% of the questions it's a good night for me. Iirc, I think constestants are right about 80% of the time on average, with a few of the greats like Jennings and Holzhauer in the low 90s range, which is fucking absurd to me.
