Nah, she's African, so I figured it was a problem where she didn't hear or understand me correctly. It wasn't like she was doing it in spite of what I said. She's a good student.
Shame how big money Christians with money to spend on evangelism pollute the minds of citizens from 3rd world countries with the worst ideas they have to offer though. Violent homophobia is a big problem over there thanks to radical Christianity.
Manipulating people without an education is one of the easiest things to do, it's why religious entities target children and 3rd world countries as much as they do. Sad, but hopefully some time in college will help her opinions change. It's crazy how difficult it is to root out bigotry or just clear misinformation, when it's instilled early on.
Anyway, that's good to hear. I had assumed it was a "This teacher wants to fucking limit my freedom of speech, I'll show him." or something along those lines, so I'm glad to know it was a communication issue versus willful noncompliance.
