On July 1, 1992, an unprecedented massacre took place in the factory Bourgeois Decoupage of Besançon, in the industrial area of Trépillots.
Franck Zoritch, employed from 1989 to 1991 in the factory, was dismissed for "misunderstanding with a superior", his workshop manager. In the following months, he gradually becomes depressed, he becomes marginalized and cultivates a hatred for his old factory and his bosses, fueled by alcohol. The separation from his girlfriend a few months before the carnage would have arranged nothing.
On July 1, 1992, the 26-year-old drunk man burst into the office of the director of the home where he lives, forcing him to carry him with his vehicle to his old factory. With him a rifle cal 222 r semi-automatic and a handgun type .44 Magnum stolen from his half-brother and enough chargers not to be short of ammunition. Franck Zoritch abandons the director of the home once arrived safely and attaches to the steering wheel with a pair of handcuffs. Despite this precaution, the director manages to drive his car to the nearest gendarmerie and to warn the authorities, but it is already too late ...
Meanwhile, Franck Zoritch burst into his old factory, armed and determined to commit a real massacre. He coldly slaps a man in the main yard, and enters the buildings shooting at everything that moves. With his walkman, he listens to Hard Rock music to the rhythm of the victims he makes. The sound of the machines in the factory in operation camouflage the explosion of bullets fired, and the time that employees realize that a killing takes place, six victims and five wounded are to be deplored. Some, fleeing an inevitable death, will disengage. The authorities, who arrive quickly on the scene (at 16:07) find half an hour later the body of Franck Zoritch, just blew his brains. Under his body, two grenades are carefully hidden, and will be defused.
The death toll is heavy: seven dead (including Franck Zorich) and five wounded
