Because most of these fish were caught and stacked before Paul made updates to raise the minimum life / mana you could have on any fish. Before even the higher tier fish could spawn with absolutely awful rolls. I think this answers your question?

 Exactly.. But you got me curious that maybe there's a big bug conspiracy that I just uncovered, which would be absolutely useless, unless you wanted to be the worst at fishing!

From that I guess that Cylon was basically the best at these profs in the beginning and by the time others caught up, I'd guess that Paul had already updated fish (I read about it in some very old patch notes somewhere...) to have a pretty high minimum life or mana value. So yeah, these are unspawnable terrible fish (not that anyone should care, since they didn't go over the current values, just under)...

Yes there was no minimum on how low a roll could get, today we have 25life/mana per tier.

Back then, Cylon was the only fisher, there was not really any reason to fish, because there was no market for it, no1 was buying fish, so ppl never really bother starting with it.
+ all skills was new and ppl started muting instead of fishing.

Also, Cylon was never good at this game ^^

Lol Joe "Cylon" was hands down the best skiller in general when skills were released. Which is why he called everyone slackers, because if he still played like he did back then he'd still be #1 skiller no doubt about it.

Edit- 31 (68.56%) 21 (15.89%) 17 (5.62%) 8 (9.11%) 16 (27.37%) <- his skills across the board and remember he sttopped really skilling in 2014

Edit2- My bad he stopped really skilling is 2012 had to check his posts to confirm. Imagine those profs ^^ with an extra 7 years!

Then I am missing something else from what you wrote here.

You write a lot of words about things you know nothing about

"Then I am missing something else", this should have been an indication that I also would have liked an answer to the question, even though I based it off stacking, I was still missing something.

Nice to know even my reading skills lack some what, but, it seems others can't even read the first line and post a reply that doesn't give the answer.

Glad others pointed out things more clearly.

Joe and I started fishing when skills were first released and had lots of fun racing to the top at the time. Minimum fish spawns were added in V1.22.0 on 21 Jun 2011. These fish were from before then.

I still have this bass stack lying around:

Magical bass fish
Level Req: 10
Use Item to Receive Effect

Heals 27 Life
Recovers 3 Mana
Quantity: 419

Some of my trout stacks here are pretty terrible too

Yea, it must have been awful... And barely worth it compared to muting or glyphing back then, so kudos for still choosing it ;)

I don't know about that. I signed on again a month or so ago after being gone for 8 years and I found some old PM's from back then. I still made gobs of FG off of fishing

Wait... Aren't stacks impacted by fishing level, cooking level, and... muting level?

Maybe you should look at his actual character.

Edit: Oh, you're talking about amounts of life/mana being so low. That's because fish sucked hard when we started. Nothing beat a 5 life trout. No lie. Still worth cooking for the skill. You just haven't been around long enough.
