I'm not to IT related. However I accidentally downloaded an idle buddy virus onto my laptop and cant get rid of it. Aka ibservice or ibclient. From what I read its mainly used for hackers to use for mining bitcoin. I'm about to purchase some software to get rid of it but was trying to do it myself.

Any ideas greatly appreciated..

Just google a removal guide and follow steps.
Worst case format the machine.

You tried just scanning with malwarebytes?

I have not.. the removal guides I have read about did mention this and try to get me to download it but at this point I'm hesitant to download anything.. I'll do a little more research.. I have been working alot and dealing with some issues so I haven't had a chance to jump back onto computer yet..

Malwarebytes is a pretty blanket program for getting rid of harmful programs. It does good, not great. It's free to download and use.

If your plan of attack is malware bytes run it in safe mode first.
