I am looking to get back into some gaming (mainly WoW). I am having an issue where my PCI slots will not work with a video card in it. I borrowed a vid card from a friend that I know works, however when it is input into my tower, the computer will not boot and the 'VGA led' lights up on the board (Z97-A).

Regardless of the slot, the issue always persists.

No issues with PSU, plenty of power. Using the onboard video boots just fine, as long as the video card is not inserted.

Any thoughts? Could my slots have gone bad? Built this computer back in 2012-2013.

Thanks,

dirty slot or bad slot.
compressed air/air compressor to try and clean it if nothing new mobo.
Provided the cards actually being inserted fully.

additionally you can check bios first with onboard and see if the display needs to be switched over.

Appreciate the quick response.

Have not yet tried the compressed air. Will do later this week.
Quite positive it is inserted correctly.

Would you please elaborate on the bios? When it was working a few years ago, I never had to enter the bios for anything; it always worked just fine.
