I started with an Android phone back in the day (2010) lets say.
I played with emulators and running FFVIII was absolutely atrocious.
Things have changed since then.
I've been using iphone for the last 6 years and i stay with them for the processing power and reliability of the apps not crashing so much.

I used to work at AT&T and it was slow, I would go from every phone on display and download games like Summoners War, Marvel Future Fight, etc.
High demand games and i would run them on the iphone 7 vs samsung note 8 and the note 8 always crashed, lagged, and heat up way before the iphone

Now, I havent owned an android in several years, and Ive never owned any +1, Huwaii phones, etc overseas.
I also dont care about the other stuff phone enthusiasts care about like camera, face recognizition, etc etc

All I'm wondering is what is the BEST mobile gaming phones from your experiences/ knowledge.
Apple isnt the best, but its dependable. I let my games run in the background while i do other things and 2 hours later I can open my game app and its still there where i left it grinding lvls (Ragnarok M)
Samsung Note 8 runs beautifully and visuals are gorgeous, but a few hours in and the app crashes and heats up, etc.

Anyone have experience with the Razor or RoG phones?

I've never had bad experiences with android phones and games.

Even using the shitty ~200$ phones

$200 phones aren't even shitty now
they're flagship quality without the branding.

Coming from an iPhone 6 gold to a 7+ was a large performance jump

I’ve not had an android since a s7 and I didn’t like it

I"m using Razer Phone 2

120hz screen and Dolby Atmos speakers :hail:

Problem 1: there are not enough games worth playing. 99÷ of mobile games are casino's with fancy graphics. They are designed as cashgrabs.

Problem 2: Most games don't even run 60 fps. So 90hz (asus rog) and 120hz (razer 2) are overkill for games. Interface runs smoother ofcourse but also drains battery faster.

Problem 3: 2 years from now when games keep getting better on mobile there will be 5G. So you will want to have a phone that supports 5G

Answer: for now buy a budget android phone. 2 years from now buy a phone designed for gaming. The specs of current gaming phones are overkill.

Main reason I bought this phone was the speakers and because iTunes is pure cancer. Because I travel by bus/train I download alot of tv shows and watch them on my phone.

Edit: I totally forgot about emulation! I'm running gamecube/wii games at 60fps on my razer 2 very smooth, but lately don't play games

The specs of the new Asus ROG Phone II is remarkable, though it is pricey.
