Just got my monk to 70 solo play...Ive never played monk b4 but thought I would try it for season. I see on leaderboard monk is using monkeys garb tho...is the seasons free set worth it for monk or I'd something wrong with leaderboard?

I don't have a headset which is why I normally play solo or couch coop with my husband and son. I do have a question though...on the icy veins s16 uliana guide it says to have exploding palm as a skill.

I noticed it would still proc all the time from just way of the hundred fists and explosion from az-turrasq. I have been experimenting with different skills to use instead. I just completed the set and have only gungo gear and fist of az-turrasq but found ancient minds eye that makes inner sanctuary increase spirit regeneration. I put this on and am now able to do t10 already. The rorg bonus is nice this season,

Is having exploding palm as a skill necessary later when i have all reccomended items and can do higher levels or is there some other skill/item that is better? Maybe cyclone strike to pull in mobs?

I noticed I never even used it when I had it as a skill so I'm curious when/why i would need it at all. Thanks!

There are some options here, but having exploding palm with the cold rune is absolutely necessary As it causes the most damage and explosion procs. I bind it to right bumper and dont touch it. You only equip the skill to make sure it applies the right rune. Chc and cold damage on bracers are also a high priority ! Use the 5 piece set with mad stone helmet as for regular rifts SSS procs EP as well. I use focus and restraint for damage. If you throw ingeom as your offhand beside ur az-turr it gives you unlimited dashing strike for 9 -10 seconds to find your next elite as well as helps keep your ephipahny off cooldown. If you have az-turr claw and the staff in the cube you will have more than sufficient damage to speed through t13. If you are struggling for survivability put on gold wrap.. put advairce band in the cube and boon of the border on a jewelry socket and your immortal.

For bracers use nemesis bracers and gundo gear. Cube one of them and make sure the one equipped has. Cold dmg abs 5+ crit chance

Got bored with the monk and made shadow impale again... I'm doing gr 95 solo within 2 days of making the character....had to look up what happened...bliz added a bunch of zeros to almost every set for s16...seems gr 95 is the new gr 70....not sure to be happy or not about that...

They balanced the sets.. before only wiz/sader/necro could speed 95s

I'll either do solo up to gr 110+ or I'll break my disc in disgust...havent decided what to do yet. They could have also added t14-20 for bounties and rifts....listening to 'not enough hatred' and trying to stare mobs to death gets old pretty quick.
