I wouldn't be caught dead with an APU, personally.
There will be plenty of options for upgrades, considering the projected lifespan of the socket. If/when I'm asked about upgrades, a proper Ryzen chip will be recommended after a dedicated GPU.
It's obvious that the R5 is the better immediate option which can be squeezed into the budget, there's no arguing there.
