Most drama or sci-fi stuff from the 90' to 00's were pretty good.
Start there.

Also the action stuff from the 80's is definitely worth looking at.
Theres not really any top top movies per say just a lot of classics.

Anything by Hayao Miyazaki. Howl's Moving Castle, Spirited Away, Princess Monoke, and Nausicaa and the Valley of the Wind are my favorites.

Aside from the old time classics (ghibli stuff) and the two recent massive movies, Kimi no na wa and Koe no Kitachi. There have been a few movies that have been incredible:

Fate Stay Night Presage Flower and Sayonara no Asa ni Yakusoku no Hana wo Kazarou.
