This is my personal music blog of everything I listen to. Many of it reflects the mood I am in. I enjoy all kinds of music but mostly: Classical, Classic Rock, Stoner Rock, Blues, Blues Rock, Jazz, Jazz Fusion, Funk, worldly, world folk.

You'll enjoy it overtime. Feel free to post. Let's start off with something pleasing to the ear.

This song sounds very much like a tribute to Eddie Hazel of Funkadelic. It's been said that if Eddie Hazel was in another bad he would have been one of the greats. It's sad to say that Funkadelic held back his talent or fame but he was by all means one of the greats. True enthusiast remember Maggot Brain. That song showed the world how Eddie played guitar. Eddie put so much of himself into the songs Maggot Brain and California Dreamin'. He gets into a trance and makes his guitar sing.

If you have never heard of Eddie Hazel (The Parliament & Funkadelic) or John Frusciante (Red Hot Chili Peppers), let me be you guide.

Many covers to this song. Crossroads was such a good festival so I'll choose this version. The entire place was sold out. The best bands around assembled for the 2010 Crossroads Guitar Festival. Here is:

John Mayer with Ain't No Sunshine.

There is something about this recording that is so awesome. The backstory polishes the awe it brings.

Nothing was added later. They recorded this live in the studio. Stevie had the lights out in his booth, and his eyes were closed when the engineer noticed the tape was about to run out. He could not get Stevie's attention, but thankfully Whipper saw what was going on and signalled the ending of the song by the way he played. Stevie picked up on this instinctively and brought the take to a close. That's how tight they were. The tape spooled off the reel as the last notes faded out. We are very lucky to have this. There could never have been a better take. They had attempted to record it before but the feel was never quite right. This one is pure perfection.

This song drifts you away on a soulful and melodic musical journey. One you will never regret hearing over and over again.

Catchy and chaotic. They definitely make those instruments moan.

I first heard this song and saw the video in high school. Someone ripped the live CD off the interwebs and played it while we got stoned. It blew my mind. I had heard Dave Matthews Band before but not like this. I also learned who Warren Haynes was that day. I had heard the Allman Brothers Band before of course but I never knew who its members were. Warren Haynes also plays in a jam band called Gov't Mule. Great band to check out.

I think this is the greatest DMB performance I've ever seen. This is one of those concerts you wish you could have been at.

Gary Clark Jr. blows my mind every time I hear him play. When I found out he grew up in Austin, Texas it all made sense. Of course he jams with this much skill and soul. He grew up in the heart of soul and rock and roll. South by Southwest anyone? Austin is the place to be if you want Southern and Blues rock in my opinion. The BBQ is damn good too. Great beer in fact. Amazing music, beer and BBQ. God bless Texas.

Onto the music!

Look at the intensity of the band while they play. GCJ and his drummer Johnny Radelat are so into the music. It's refreshing to see bands out there playing at this level and putting their all into the music.

Amazing Performance by Gary Clark Jr. - When My Train Pulls In

10:07 is pretty funny. GCJ is jamming his all and the bassist is just left in the dust kinda strumming along. heh
