Looking at the chart, just trying to find something in that green zone i guess.

EX gf, just broke up with me last week, still roomates and friends, just trying to help her out. She got the car 1 year ago, and was told from her friends parents that the tires were new...
( newer was the real story, probably had for nearly 5-6 months )
And they were just cheap 45,000 mile tires. not sure where they got them.
Bald as fuck rn... and its just starting to snow.. probably getting new car in feb/march, so in all honesty we just need new tires... just for this winter...
so perfect size isn't really the requirement, just need something close, thats cheap, and will be decent for the snow.
Was thinking cheap snow tires.... but probably knowing her, won't get new car until march/april, and I'm sure those snow tires will wear down like asap.... and she will probably run into issues idk.
anyways...............

P225/50R16 (92V I think) , for a 1999 Grand Am 2 Door, GT ( with performance package ) which means the rims are upgraded from a size 15 to a 16.
I was hoping wal-mart would have Douglas all season ($53) , but apparently they don't carry this size like anywhere, not even local part stores or mechanics.
they can be special ordered, but i live in the middle of nowhere, the nearest walmart is 35 minutes , and 85% of the time, their computers are down, and can't check tires.

Sorry for you Buddy!
It is nice of you trying to help even when you broke up! :) I think even the cheapest winter tires should last one season. But it depends on the enviroment and how many kilometers she wants to drive in 3-4 months. If she drives everyday and the weather is quite warm, it might erose the tires more, but still, I think the cheapest would do 1 season. But ask a mechanic, don't trust JSP :D
