I loved this. I share the same gripes as others, I wish it had been a miniseries. Everything else is on point. It actually does a great job of sticking to the true story of Bruce. The only part that bothered me was towards the end involving the prince but I won’t spoil it.

I was really confused as to why everyone was talking about it like it was a show.

I'd bump it to great because of the historical accuracy. Of course there are some grey areas here and there, but for the vast majority of the film, it was dead on from what I knew about Robert the Bruce and from what additional research after the movie I was able to find said. Most based in reality movies are the kinda shit where they take the names of the people, a general story, and then they make up every detail in the middle to get from A to B in as entertaining a way as possible. It was a bit dull at times, but that was really my only complaint. My only complaint being that it was a bit dull at times, but that's to be expected from anything with even 50% historical accuracy. They forced/fabricated the ending between Bruce and Edward the II, which I thought was completely unnecessary. It would have been just as good without that added ridiculousness. We've captured the king of England who currently has no heir to the throne.... What do we do guys? Eh, fuck it, he's not important, let him go. Like, what lol?
