Well, I just got d/c'd while fishing. I closed the window and reopened the game. When I got back on my fishing guy, the rod was gone. :'(

So... maybe the game is fine but the gateway to my game breaks and that is what is causing my rod to break? I don't know... anyway, so if you switched it to where, if the skilling window is closed, it aborts the action and thus my rod stays intact? Instead of me failing the instance. This change could apply to the 4 other skills, too (burned fish, failed muting, lost glyph, etc.).

Yes please. Random disconnects destroying very hard to find rods are horrible. Transmutes that take 7-8 minutes and then get disconnected is punishment from a previous life.

yeah thats part of why I dont fish much... I dont get d/cs often but if it happens while fishing there goes the rod.

If it even just did it when the client disconnected it would help immensely. Its not like really nice rods are easy to come by

I know this hasn't worked for everyone but there was a chrome update a week ago, that plus updating my sockets seems to have fixed the problem for me. Haven't DC'd since although like I said I have spoken to people where it has helped but not fixed.

Talking about it in the bug topic was as it is only a bug if everyone drops at once. He never said disconnects dont happen. In fact he said d/cs are connection related not game server problems. That being said this isnt saying the game is to blame but why not have a safeguard to your skilling items if you d/c. Nice rods dont drop all the time. If we changed the way the game treats the skilling window closing or client disconnecting (regardless of reason) it would keep you from losing extremely rare rods from a shitty connection.


Note: We are not saying the disconnects are a bug or anything to do with the servers. Just connection. This change improves and protects skilling from accidental d/c's or skilling windows closing.
