Hello everyone, i am new to computer and bought my first "Real" one last week (yes it was pre built lol) it came with an ASUS graphics card and also the cd "GPU TWEAK 2+DRIVERS"

• First thing, my computer doesn't have a cd rom so i bought an adapter.. unfortunately the adapter wasn't loading up my GPU Tweak,.. so i went to the ASUS website and downloaded GPU Tweak 2 off the website (it didn't say +drivers so I'm not sure if i have everything i need. I will link what i downloaded at the bottom of this post...
  
• Second, the GPU tweak 2 i have running up seems to be the same as the ones i see in videos on YouTube. I am not sure at all what i am looking at or what i am supposed to do with this GPU Tweak program... can anyone explain this to me? ive heard the term overclocked thrown around a good amount.

you don't need gpu tweak at all, just go here and search your gpu and install its driver package

It's an overclocking tool and as Atrhur said, you don't need it.

What does the driver do

The driver allows your vid card to communicate with Windows. It gives you the ability to use all of your vid card's functions.

Here are some directions...

1. Uninstall GPU Tweak 2

2. Do the following....



DDU Instructions - Nvidia
1. Get this program, here: https://www.wagnardsoft.com/ ...get the latest version, and save it to your desktop.
2. Get your vid card driver here, use the Manual Search: http://www.geforce.com/drivers ...save this to your desktop.
3. Run DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) choose the "Highly Recommend Option", and just do what it tells you. If it wants to go into "Safe Mode", let it.
4. After it's done and comp has rebooted to normal mode, just double click the Nvidia driver to install. If it want's to reboot, let it.

drivers make your video card useable


so maybe u have them already and just want to oc? if so you can do that probably with the gpu tweak as sort of a 'newbie' way but probably safe if done right. idk. so if your card is working atm (you'd know in games especially) then you can decide from there if u want to oc

GPU Tweak 2 is just ASUS's version of an overclocking tool for your vid card. Overclocking is making your vid card go faster.
IF you aren't sure what a driver is, I'd recommend you leave overclocking for another day.

Actually its saying i downloaded something called GEFORCE EXPERIENCE.. and in there i see "Game ready drivers"

What does this mean?
