Remove Blue Highlighting? - Topic

Hey folks, thanks to anyone who can hook me up with a solution. When I type, I am constantly creating a blue highlight box around text (e.g., as I am typing right now) with a larger and lighter blue text box around it. I must've misclicked to turn it on.

Windows OS (ofc)
Probably a keyboard thing, could be a mouse thing.

Do you want to remove the blue highlighting, or change its color to pink? :lol:

On a more serious note, this could be Windows Narrator – reads selected text aloud (does it?) and highlight items in a blue box.
It gets enabled by pressing the Windows key and Enter. Try to hold CAPS and ESC (or CTRL + Windows Key + Enter) to disable it.
Or navigate to Start Menu\Programs\Accessibility\Narrator, then uncheck "Enable visual highlighting Narrator cursor". Good luck!

Narrator isn't on. I didn't see the "Enable visual highlighting Narrator cursor" in Narrator though. ty. Let's see if a solution comes up :blush:

Have you tested other browsers/apps?

Have you tried pressing the insert key?

I'll test in more places later but the issue is an issue if it's local. Pressing the Insert key doesn't help or prompt any change. ty though

Try hitting Winkey+control+enter. Can go from there if it doesn't work.

Hey!;) I have tried to find something about it, but haven't succeeded yet. Maybe try to paste screen shot here, so it would be possible to see how it looks like? I have never seen it before

Sounds like you accidentally pressed the "Insert" button on your keyboard.

/edit: Saw your response to cheetos. Restart your machine and toggle the insert key, it's likely in Overwrite mode.

I've restarted + hit "Insert"--I'm still seeing blue. Is there a way to toggle the button in an interface?
