Sort of, but not really. It takes off about 35 dmg per hit from scepter hammers, 28 dmg per hit from spirit hammers, and 16 dmg per hit from bone spear/bone spirit. I guess it’s better than +5 rep on shields but only vs hdin/necro. Vs everything else it’s pretty much a 3020/2 shield with minor mdr/dr mods

I used to have a 10% 2 os but only rolled blocking on my original plaguer took me way too long to craft especially since I always settled on my rare 5 rep 2 os lol. Shame I couldn't find a good rare this last ladder. Lemme know if you roll any extra 2 os ones doesn't need deflecting.

Oh man, I’ve made a ton of sweet 2os/no blocking ones but didn’t save em. Two nights ago I had a 17fhr/2os/10 dtm/x magic res but I didn’t think anyone would use it without block mods. I’ve basically only been saving deflecting/2os :(. I’ll keep an eye out!

I'm using a 3 os 4 rep (iso 5) kite atm so a nifty safety would fit right in. That dtm one woulda Been sweet lol.

just a rough calc:

kite shield safety, no blocking or deflecting mods = 152 dex for MB

using sanders, highest str item being kite shield (47 req), 25x 15 lifer scs + 80 lifer armor, 2x 9 str rings, 50 or so life on ammy

results:

4 str hard pts (or 2x scs)
117 hard pts to dex
39 hard pts to vita

740 life


issues:

requires sanders, or presumably cks (with str on ammy to meet the above, with a bit more vita). cant str bug heavy boots on a zon. easier to make work with anyas fixed for sure tho. block speed would be an issue im sure, at least kite has decent base.

Would for sure make for a sexier item. just from looking at numbers it seems the block rate and not the block chance is the bigger concern. its possible, and keep your eye out while crafting, to make a vs elemental one tho. block rate doesnt help vs sorcs, and you could potentially get an extra mod. maybe a res stack or additional MDR stack.

Mine has mostly bad charms and pure dex so only 500 life lol. I just wish I waited to socket my bow till I got a - reqs jewel so I didn't need 7 str from inv go glitch my boots, I'm half tempted to switch to Nats tho.
