So basically, i'm upgrading from my FX8320 to a Ryzen 5 2600.

I know I have to get a new mobo, new RAM, new CPU cooler.

Basically what I don't know (cause I haven't had to do it) is will this be simply plug and play with my current SSD?

OS = Win10.

Or will I have to get a flashdrive to download x/y/z to ensure a proper install/startup

It should work, but IMO it's a good time to do a fresh install. Also, the stock Ryzen coolers are good.

Probably is, but I would never be able to re-download my games.
I live in the country where there is no cable service (so no broadband net).

I play using my Nighthawk Hotspot from AT&T.

Separate your ssd into two sections (partitions)

So like a c drive and a d drive

Put all your games and other stuff you want to keep into the d drive

Install OS on the c drive

Games arent affected or deleted

Yeah I've never even heard of nor have done it lol.

Idk, maybe I should just upgrade and drag everything to a buddys house that has broadband.
Seems rather daunting.

Hit the windows key on your keyboard and type disk manager

You can look at your hard drives and their partitions and create new ones

if its steam games its pretty easy to move them to different drive/partition

just create new steam library and move each game under properties - local files

go buy a hard drive.
format it.
move all games and everything over to the hard drive

now when you build new pc, put in SSD.
if it works, then hooray and put in hdd
if not, reinstall windows on ssd and put in hdd

both bases covered this way so you don't have to re-download things
