up to 1.02, Treads of Cthon, Tearhaunch and Blinkbat's Form were bugged to have only +1 FRW, but nobody could tell from the description

lol that's hilarious, but the tooltip is still right then :P +1 is still "faster run walk"

You didnt write version number in your game. I think some items could have changed stats between 1.00 - 1.09.

Is this 1.00? 1.03?

As discussed in other thread Raven Claw bow in some version (1.07 to 1.09 maybe?) had level 30 exploding arrow. I do not know about other patches. In 1.10 it is level 3 which is much lower damage. Level 30 could carry you through whole normal and nightmare difficulty.

Could you also test Eye of Etlich? Even in current game it has a "hidden" stat that between different amulets the duration of cold is different (and not visible anywhere apart from a test)

All items are 1.03 and I've tested the rclaw and it sucks. I'm not aware of any specific unique changes made to classic until 09 but I could be wrong.
I plan to start playing 1.08 soon to start mfing rares, because the rares in 03 suck bad

Also be aware skill damages in 00-06 are EXTREMELY LOW compared to what you are used to in post 1.10. It could very well have lvl 30 exploding arrows but not actually do good damage until later patches.

Just to put it in perspective for people, my bowzon was 2 shotting monsters in hell cs with multi shot and a 40 damage rune bow. Think about that for a second.

Hey, so I just found out, I started playing 1.07 and the uniques all started spawning with level requirements, so prepatch really was 1.00-1.06 only.
Also, check out this 1.08 venom ward, its different from prepatch venom ward and 1.09 venom ward, thoughts?

@dropship

it's because they changed how the stat of raven claw is read/applied.
the stat has the value "30" in earlier patches, but the game does not interpret this as "level 30 exploding arrow". (the arrow uses level 1 EA damage values, which is a lousy 2-4.)
in 1.10 they changed the value to be read as "lvl x exploding arrow", but they also changed the value from 30 to 3.
but if a bow is converted to 1.10+, it will keep that value of 30, turning it into a level 30 EA.
basically, the bow only has awesome damage if it was converted from an older patch to a newer one.

in 1.00-1.06 Eye of Etlich has a random cold duration of 50 - 299 frames, so between 2 and (basically) 12 seconds.
in 1.14 it's 50-250 frames, so between 2 and 10 seconds.

there were a handful of uniques that got patched in 1.03, and a few in 1.04 as well, but you can't tell by the description because what they fixed was IAS and FRW.
Griswold's Edge for example had -10 IAS before it was fixed to be +10 IAS, but the description says "Slightly Increased Attack Speed" in both cases.
there were also a few corrections to item bases in 1.03 and 1.04, but those were not unique-specific. for example the base damage of a Maul was 1-1 before 1.03, which was fixed to be 30-40.
and for example a scythe was patched from 0 to 2 rangeadder.

are you able to pull this information directly from the game files? I'm curious about the 1.07-1.08 uniques, I had no idea that some were different from their 1.09 counterparts
