you want EE on weapon, EE on armor.

the EE on weapon helps you actually Kill the monsters, the EE on the Armor helps you Stay in the catacombs long enough to actually kill a monster or two before you have to regen.

You could just focus on EE weapons, go 100 vita and buy stat armor without EE to increase your damage.
With this setup, you could also join groups since you effectively just deal damage, they could heal you in group.
