Hello there,

I am very unfamiliar with this sort of thing so im glad there was a forum for it here.
I am looking to build my first gaming PC.

I will likely be using it for things such as:

League of Legends
Runescape
CS:GO
Fortnite etc

(low - med intensity games for performance)

I am thinking of aorund 1k - 1.2k for the build (in Canadian dollars if possible) :P

Will be looking to price it with and without an operating system! As I may be able to get my hands on one from a friend.

If anyone would be so kind as to help me out with my starter build, I would greatly appreciate it.

add 100 and get this...
https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/GqKcGG

Could go lower but you won't get the ability to oc..
Then in future only need to upgrade GPU.

Get windows 10 64bit Pro on ebay for 5$.

Bump it 24 hours before purchase and we can usually help you score some last minute deals and combos for more savings. Atrhur has a fairly solid build there. Youll be fine gaming for years.

One suggestion would be a separate hard drive for the games. The frequent updates from some of those games are going to wear out an ssd quicker.

Wouldn't be a realistic scenario for a gaming system. It's rated for 180 TBW cycles, even my server with quite a lot of updating metadata and libraries of 28TB storage. It would take me 6 years to wear it down. (24/7 usage)
Sadly I got an MX300 275GB (Got it 40% of retail price tho) it's been running non-stop for 358 days and it has almost reached 30TBW(82GB/Day) out of the 80TBW it's rated for.

But for a regular consumer system 180 TBW 500GB SSD, should last you for at least 2-3 decades.

I also only use SSD's in my gaming system.

I’m tempted to order tonight, but I will for sure!
Thanks all

What’s the difference in that processor opposed to Ryzen 5 2700? Just not compatible with the motherboard?

Yeah for gaming the better IPC and higher clock speed are superior on the 8600K.
For productivity work the Ryzen would be a better option.
