The way current cooking works if you close the box, it does not remember which stack of fish you cooked last. In fishing, if you close and go back it remembers what rod you use and do not have to drag and drop it back in the box, even remembers if you entered catacombs and went back.

This suggest would simple have cooking remember the last stack you cooked the way fishing remembers your rod
