I saw the trailer and a voice in my head just said "seriously". They are now running ads on prime time for the lowest level b movies.

I watched the movie to see a big ass shark rampage and was satisfied with it.

Nowadays people qualify "good" as oscar worthy and "bad" as not worthy, which is dumb.

Its a great suspense and I was entertained during the whole movie.

I guess the real question is how important is that 15$ to you?

I will both hate and love this movie.

Hate because I loved the book. Remember reading it when I was like 8.

Love cuz seeing a meg on the big screen.

Def going to watch it but won't pay to see it. pirate life is the life for me.

That's not even remotely true. Every shit pile superhero movie is praised as the best thing since sliced bread and those never get nominated for shit. The Oscars are fucking pointless anyways. Plenty of phenomenal movies go unnoticed every year because they didn't play the game right.

No, people qualify "good" as "what I like" and "bad" as "what I don't like" which is fucking stupid imo.

You should be able to separate whether you think a movie is good or not from if you like it.

It's ok to know a movie is good and not like it, bit calling it bad because you don't like it is stupid.

Just like it's ok to like a bad movie, but calling a bad movie good because you like it is also stupid.
