erm patched is t1. its 5 eps per tier.
this overspawned to 7 eps instead of 5

I don’t think so, I’m fairly confident that it’s 3/tier, although overspawns can roll 1 tier higher and +1 for some reason.

3.5 per tier seems makes more sense... It would be just like regen gear using a fraction in the cap. T1 overspawns seem to cap at 7 and so do non-overspawn t2. Ive seen a 10ep t2 overspawn. I refuse to believe there is a random chance to spawn +1 higher than the apparent cap. No other item mod shows the ability to overspawn above the overspawn cap so I see no reason to expect map mods to be the exception to the rule.

I agree that it seems more likely that it’s 3.5, I have not seen any evidence to support that idea though and every single map I’ve found is 1 tier higher with a random +1. I should have found plenty of t2 maps with 7 eps if that was the case but they always cap at 6 when I don’t use ml.

I guess time will tell :)

The random +1 is the evidence of the fraction at the end. Just like regen goes up by 1 and a fraction per tier.

Can you show me a single map that has rolled higher than 3/tier +1 tier from overspawn with more than a random +1? It should exist if it’s 3.5.

Not if the game rounds decimals down. You're missing the point though. The random +1 is because the max spawn isnt an even integer. Think about it.

T1 max = 3.5 which can only spawn 3 max because 4 is out of the spawn range.
T2 max = 7 because 3.5+3.5 make a full integer

Same thing happens with regen. Use the number 1.8 to show the pattern
T1 max = 1.8
T2 max = 3.6
T3 max = 5.4
T4 max = 7.2
T5 max = 9
T6 max = 10.8

The abnomal increase in max is due to the decimals not reaching whatever rounding rules are set in the code. You can look at it as you get a random +1 on it but Im trying to explain WHY you see that being the case. Im 99.99% positive that paul didnt code a single mod to overspawn differently that the other 40+ mods it can spawn.
