Has anyone had success with the /rename-character command in D2 Chat? Just saw this and am contemplating buying a character name and trying it out

btw you must have access to (or set) acc email for validation. the old name can be re-used after some days (i think 10 but not 100% sure)

Yes. If u have one char name and u want to use it on a high lvl already geared char (I.e buying a name on a lvl 1 char and switching ur current pvp char to that name) it will take a few mins after deleting before the name change will work. It will say that name is already taken. So don’t freak out if u delete the lvl 1 and go to change the name. Just keep trying and within 5-10 mins it will work.

You need to wait 10 minutes after logging out of that char/acc, there's no point to 'keep trying' until that period is over. It says that in the message they send you. If you try too early you will just get an error message saying 'the peons are sleeping' or 'this name already exists'


The old name you changed your character from will 'already exist on the realm' for 7 days after you have performed the change, then you can reclaim it.
