Necro can be great vs charge/zeal and other melee but I wouldn't call it the best caster. It's a hell of a lot easier to land hits with fissure than it is with bone spear. In fact, any caster/ranged character could easily dodge enough bone spears to out-rep the damage of an 18 necro. Necros do well against melee though, since melee can't really dodge the spears like other casters can. In the caster bracket, I'd have to say fissure is a lot better.

Fissure vs nec is the most torturous duel Ive ever faced. Always ends in a stalemate where I can outrep the bit of fissure damage that lands while he can easily play defensive and drain my mana.

Agreed. Level 18 fissure vs bone nec is cancer. They should never be allowed to fight each other.

This is very true. Only reason I think necs are better is due to the range on spear. If you have enough rw the druid isn't going to touch you.

A druid can stack the same amount of frw as a necro though, plus they generally can stack more repl, have unlimited mana, and can hit eaaaasily, especially vs a necro who is running a lot. Bone necros would have an easy time hitting chargers and melee, but that's simply it. Good luck out-damaging repl with bone spear vs any caster/ranged character who is paying attention.

Fissure vs bone spear would be a lot more fun with a zero rep, zero mdr rule implemented (or limited mdr like 3). Not that this rule would ever stick, but it would make that individual duel more fun between friends.
