Not reading my 2nd ram
Updated the ram and the ram only works in 1 slot.
I believe the other slot isnt working because the single doesnt work in the slot either.
So should i just buy another motherboard compatible ?
If so which should i get
50-150$ i can spend

Would like to upgrade to a i5 processor

Medium case and im sure it can take a full Mobo

Need to be a bit more specific than that. The cases outer size doesn't matter as much as the motherboard standoffs IN the case.

I would either go for a used B150 motherboard (The budget way where you keep your i3)
Or https://pcpartpicker.com/list/NxG4q4 (250$). This would blow your i3-6100 out of the water. 2C/4T vs 6C/6T, almost can't be compared for something like stream encoding.

is the mobo dual channel ?

Mobo is dual channel, RAM will most probably work. I'd guess the RAM has 98% chance of working, maybe even 100%.

/e If you list which mobo you decided to go with, I can find some "for sure" RAM.

well ill just buy the micro and i5 and ill need thermal paste which should i go with ?

on top of that if the ram dont work ill just return the ram i got now
