small engines are easy.

putting a motor together/overhauling one is much different than fabricating a frame and then adding parts. the adding parts part is pretty easy, fabrication.... not so much

sorry im no help, i also dont know anything, but i half assume there are some companies out there that sell bare frames and you can go from there/modify it if you like

Late response but 76-81 Yamaha 650 frames are super common and support 450's, 600's and 1100's. Just make sure you get the ownership with the frame or you be fucked trying to get it on the road.

Where are you located? My cousins down by the Ohio/Kentucky border buy bikes and strip them and sell the parts. Strictly HD stuff too. PM me if you want more info.
