Diablo 2 requires much more skill. I played both religiously and Diablo 2 is always more challenging to "stay alive." Every class in Diablo 3 has a free get out of jail free card now.... So jesus christ stfu.

d2 got 24/7 "free get out of jail free card" with insta quit while if you're in a bad pack in d3 there is no passive that can save you, also 10 seconds for exit game doesn't allow you to "cheat" death, nor alt+f4
i botted to 99 more than one character on d2 hc with cheap settings, just because the endgame is pretty much easy if you go with coockie cutter builds.

D2 can be punishing when new players encounter duriel or dolls or gloams or what have you.
New players on D3 storymode have a god damn cakewalk how can they bare this without falling asleep.
