Running Diablo 2 On Windows 7 - Topic

recently my gfx card broke down so i bought me a new one (geforce gtx 1050ti ) , and while i was at it i also cleaned up my whole pc by formatting .

Reinstalled everything , no problems in any way until i came to the reinstal of diablo 2 .

i cannot get it working AT ALL , it just wont launch as it says its not compatible with windows 7 .

i have tryd google it and followed every step of many ppl claiming to have a fix for it , they al failed

is there any1 that could help me out on this issue? kinda need d2 running asap as i'm in a tournament that just started .

did u dl game from bnet?
if not i sudgest u do, sometimes installing old versions fuck things up

Did you try running it as an Administrator?
Right Click, properties, compatibility and make a tick on "Run programm as an Administrator"

I also run it on a compatibility mode.

When you are in the compatibility tab, just pick Windows Xp (Service Pack 3) and make a tick there.

did not download from bnet , installed with al the discs ,

i ran it as administrator + windows xp service pack 3 ( even try'd 2 )

Did you try to run it on window mode? I have sometimes problems starting it on full mode too.

Just put a -w at the end, should look like this

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Diablo II\Diablo II.exe" -w

ye that i have also done , i m used of playing windowed for the last years so thats the first thing i did

Hm thats weird , was just checking jsp ,reading this topic and out of nowhere d2 launched and started instal patch .

Al probs are fixed now :/

one of you guys must have use some telepathic shit on my computer xD whoever it was ; thanks !

No longer compatible with Windows XP / Vista / 7 / 8 / 8.1 / Linux (any distro) / Mac OS (only the latest version & build is fine; NO bootcamp, NO Wine, No PlayOnLinux.)

btw uninstall your current copy & dl from Blizzard's site.
