So I just picked this up, first in the series. Heard it was really hard, turned it on, was making my way through, and boom, spear through the chest actually hurts avatar.
So far it has demanded perfection. I'm halfway through the High Wall of Lothric and I can pretty much time every spawn on both sides up until a certain point, which is where the deaths are happening until I figure out that part ad nauseam. Took me a few sitdowns to get through the first boss, and had to just sit down and take it slowly. Take every inch of the game slowly, because an axe to the chest will end you.
My buddy wants me to meet up with him so he can hook me up to help me out. I'm passing and playing through this brutal game alone for a long time, so when I finally play online I can actually play the game. I'm using long sword with shield and picked up the basic halberd. I haven't learned halberd yet, but am rocking the sword and board.
Game is a blast. Difficulty is refreshing. I bought it the other day after craving some console gaming after being burnt out on MMOs and loaded up Mass Effect Andromeda to wreck some shit when I had an hour gap between getting home from work and my wife getting home from the gym. Played about the whole hour, talked to a bunch of NPCs, flew my space ship around, didn't find anything to shoot or give me an actual challenge. I can log into DS3 for 10 minutes and it will be nonstop action. I love that. And it isn't as inaccessible as some people make it out to be. Its not Super Ghouls & Ghost or anything, but I did find myself screaming at the television when I died halfway through a boss and walked around with clenched fist above my head when I finally killed him. I'm also 40 ffs.
Dark Souls 3 is the shit.
