From users? U charge ur ppl?

I guess I'm just nice. Since it's a bunch of friends, they make requests I get it. I pay for Plex pass and the server

And ya probably, I would just keep watching it bc It seemed everyday they had new deals

Yeah I charge friend/family members. But gotta cover hardware upgrades, electricity, plex premium, Proxy/VPN, and upgraded to 500/500mbit.
I update contents twice a day and take requests as well. Gotta get another 8 or 10TB WD red in about 6 months to keep up.

Tho they save money since all have canceled their Netflix, HBO, Viaplay, AmazonPrime etc.

I like the troubleshooting and being relied on. And gives some experience doing it this way. Tho it's non-profit ofc because it's only for friends and family.
Even update content twice a day :)

Ya I get it as fast as I can since I can do it from phone. Basically as soon as they ask :D unless I'm sleeping of course lol

Plus server has 1gb up/down so anything is done within minutes :D

Idk I would just feel bad asking ppl to spend money on it, since the whole idea behind is to not pay :P

Buying hard drives is a meme tbh. I have all of my content in a gsuite business account which is $10/month + tax for unlimited storage. I installed the plex app on a VPS that has Xeon CPUs and gigabit speed. I use Stablebit Clouddrive to encrypt all of the content in Gsuite and create a virtual drive of that content in the VPS. Once you get it all setup it requires very little maintenance and you never have to worry about downtime.

so im actually been thinking about this i reached out to my 4 main people that use it all the time, and asked if they would rather keep deleting and adding more stuff or pitch in some $ and upgrade the server to store more at once. they all agreed to pitch in alittle bit each month if its not too much. After more talking and shit, we settled we could all be happy with spending $15 a piece, so $60USD a month. But Now I can not find a server for a good deal that is really an upgrade more than just 2TB LOL.

So i am now looking into to gsuite business unlimited storage + google-drive-ocamlfuse + ubuntu

Ill report back on how it does.
