How many deaths are necessary for this to get more than 1 mention in a news cycle? Usually with a story like this, it just gets reported in headline only on the major stations and then completely forgotten within 24 hours.
As opposed to something like Jamal Khashoggi getting force meme'd into headlines for a month
The Saudi Arabian murder of a dissident journalist was a big story, though. It had large international implications...including countries cancelling hundreds of millions of dollars worth of arms deals with the country. The fact that the Trump administration disputed and danced around the CIA's intelligence on the matter to presumably strengthen their case for relative inaction only made the story bigger.
