Hi guys, my name is Kyle Howard.. I'm a new nursing student, and my first day of class was September 6th, 2017.

I'll be keeping tracks of the highs and lows as I trek through school, periodically updating once in a blue moon..

On this day in class, more specifically Intro into Pharmacology I learned about bioavailability and why people have different reactions to generic medications than to brand names!

Doesn't sound interesting but with every bit of knowledge I gather, I feel like i'm that much closer to actualizing my nursing potential!

Quick update, took our first quiz last week.

Got an 89 on it, still trying to get used to the NCLEX style questions.. They have a program we use online called PassPoint that asks those style NCLEX questions..

18 months to go!

Just did my 2nd quiz in skills yesterday..

did pretty horrible! I guess I'm still getting the whole NCLEX style down... 57 =\... My cumulative grade right now in skills is a 73.. I need a 75 to pass, so this shit is getting real.. But there is plenty of time to move up!

Off to school to study.. Lets do this shit.

Wednesday - Flu shot clinic, practicing IM injections

Flu clinic was fun, did my first IM shot "even though I've done thousands of IVs"..

Pharm test I got a 90 in, and my latest 101 test I got an 88 in! Doing good, this week starts clinicals.. I'm actually sitting in a study room working on my drug cards for pharmacology and getting ready for clinicals..

So I'm doing a lot better this first semester.. plenty to go though!

Have a 79.66 in skills, an 88 in theory and like a 93 in pharm..

Clinicals are blerh.. I had to finish 14 drug cards after I got out.. 14 drug cards, 3 care plans, a disease process sheet, and a head to toe eval..

AND I have 2 exams on Monday, if I didn't have enough shit to study..

I can see the light in the end of the tunnel.

Took my 2nd to last test in pharm and got an 83.. Powering through 101 with ease right now..

Just signed up for next semester, taking Nursing 111 and 112.. Mental health and community health.

Also taking a sociology class just to get that out of the way, doing that online.. 2 more semesters and I will have my LPN and be half way through school!

Finished last semester easily.. Now in 110 and 111.

110 is a joke, its a hybrid class that meets every 2 weeks.. 111 is no joke though.

Currently, I have 3 papers that are due, a group project, a test next week, 2 NCLEX style tests that need to be taken '2 hours each' before next week and my clinical paperwork to do.

And I work all weekend..

Took my first test and got an 80, so that's good I guess.. Apparently the instructor said that its the hardest, so thank you lerrddd.

I have 1 more topic to find for my annotated bibliography and I'll be good to go.

All done with mental health, I'm now in medsurg nursing, and it's going ok.. A lot of busy work and the careplans are much more demanding..

I just did 23 drug cards.. fml.

ok, its 1216 and I have to be up at 7, time for bed..
