Aside from going to google the term later I have no what dedicated Satanist is or does
In the meantime (addressing UP) what is your take?
I have no "belief" in anything and therefore no bias other than psychological interest and fallacy
Lmk :)
you'd probably learn a lot from just reading things myself and MagicMan point out. him and there's one other who was making very valid points (against Christianity ofc. because there is no valid point to the existence of god or their religion.)
mainly, there's different types of satanism and the one that is most popular by followers is Laveyism, which uses the idea of breaking from our christian based instincts and acting more freely (ie, not listening to commandments because god said so, but not killing people because it's wrong)
to sum it up, laveyism is the practice of indulgence over abstinence. indulge in your kinks, pleasures, and whatever it is that makes you happy in this life, because to practice abstinence from pleasure over the promise of eternal fulfillment is ridiculous.
/e i loosely follow Laveys teachings as merely a philosophy. I took parts of what i liked and formed my own way of thinking about myself and my life. I call myself a satanist for the idea of choosing your own path in life and to think differently; see the world from a higher perspective, objectively and analytically. i never call myself a satanist in public because, contrary to what people say here, i don't want attention or to cause an argument with some idiot that I don't care about convincing of anything.
