well first and 3rd are the same except the 3rd one has a oc so you can pick up the first one and if you don't know how to oc you can learn later. you are probably guaranteed the same oc as the 3rd just you have to do it yourself rather than professionally done safely.

I didn't know there were different types of OC

There is what is called a factory overclock. The manufacturer turns up the speed a bit before they sell it.

ALL those 1060's in that pic above are using the same GPU. But some are faster than others. This would be an example of a factory overclock.

So here are my two current choices:

New EVGA 1060 6gb SC 6163 for $250 USD

or

3 months used Zotac ZT-P10700G-10M 1070 for $320 USD (still 15 months remaining on warranty, with original receipts and whatnot)

thoughts? GPU and ram are the only two things I need now... the two things that just keep going up in price and don't really have good sales -_-

I see. Thanks for the clarification.

Even if it was used for mining for those 3 months?

It's still under warranty so if it dies soon I can RMA it but then I'll be without a GPU for a month+ lol

Is this an actual thing? Like I should only buy the ram that's listed there? :O

(I bought that mobo, by the way)

Oh okay.

I've read that for strictly gaming purposes, there's no noticeable difference between like 2133mhz and 3000mhz. Is this true?

Having a tough time finding a good sale on 3000 or 3200.

for ryzen, they benefit greatly. But ofc, u won't notice the difference with ur naked eyes if that's what you mean. If you're not trying to push for 144+fps u can save moeny and just get a 2400 imo.

tested it on my 1700 myself too, mine at 3000mhz gives more FPS vs 2400

Faster Memory speeds are showing performance improvements all over now days

Ryzen benefits up to a point if i remember correctly because of their imc and limits

I'm not sure if intel has a limit on memory speed Performance improvements
If you read link on memory speeds, they are playing bigger role than over clock
