Get out of the office, see the eclipse
Even if it’s cloudy, even if it’s not total near you, it’s worth experiencing.

That '94 eclipse is the reason I've traveled to the path of totally with my family.

When I was little I saw an eclipse in L.A. that really didn't impress me so I wasn't expecting much when the one in '94 came along. "I've seen an eclipse before", I said.

I had just finished lunch and walked out of the chow hall with some of my buddies...

...right into an alien world.

The sky was deep purple and the light was indescribable and there were thousands of tiny crescents shimmering under the trees. We just stood there in silent wonder until it was over. We weren't even in the path of totality and it was one of the most memorable experiences of my life.

Can't wait for tomorrow. My wife is all like "I've seen an eclipse". Lol, it's gonna be great!

Less than 12 hours to go.

I'm not psyched about seeing the sun itself...I want to see all the rest of the sky and horizon, while the eclipse is taking place.
Hell, I'll be able to see 1000's of pics of the sun later on.

i have one eye that works well and the other barely does but it's still just as sensitive to light so i used that to gauge when it would be safe to look with my good eye, i.e when it stopped being painful
i wanted the raw experience
pretty neat
and my near-useless left eye is no worse for wear as far as i can tell

Well for 4 days the weather channel and all the local TV channels said... "nice sunny day for the eclipse.

This morning I turn on the weather channel... cloudy and chance of rain. :(

Here's exactly how much of the Solar Eclipse 2017 you’ll see where you live

I got a mediocre picture of it from my phone at work today... Up in Syracuse it was at around 71% coverage at peak which is when i got the picture.

Had enough of a break in the clouds to capture this from my office at peak.

Yeah, that's pretty much what it looked like here, except we had 80.9% coverage.
