First off, I don't know how Google/Facebook censoring right-wing people helps them make larger profits, but that's a separate issue.

I'm not sure of the point you are trying to make. A free market person is fine with the right of these companies to make that decision, but it goes against a sort of common decency/ethics. Free market people might be in favor legally of allowing weapons manufacturers to sell arms to repressive governments, that doesn't mean criticizing that company for doing so is contradictory. Libertarians don't automatically try to make something illegal if they don't like it. Companies sacrifice profits in favor of ethics all the time... free market people aren't against that.

Here I've been seeing them say a company's only obligation is to make profit.

I don't think Google has to worry about profit anymore. I think they are way past the point where they COULD continually lose money.

Like I said above, they are NOW more into the: "whoever controls the information...wins", side of the game, from here on out.

Google has clearly shown that it is anti-free speech from a philosophical point of view. I never understood the left's desire to silence people. There are several ways society can react to hate speech without silencing the opposition and I wish we took those routes.

I think it's pretty shitty and people should be able to say what they want.

"anything even remotely in opposition to liberal ideas"

Yeah bullshit. Of course the world seems scary when you refuse to see it for what it is.

No, not bullshit. Nothing about that quote of me is even remotely close to being false.

If you look at the world with even a hint of real objectivity, and distance yourself from any one particular side, politically or otherwise, you begin to see things quite clearly, and often without any major biases clogging your arteries, so to speak.

The thing is, with seeing most things in the world for what and how they really are, you realize nothing is as it seems (quite the understatement, I know), and that while this world is a relatively peaceful place when you consider how things once were, you gain a sense of how dangerous it still is in a number of places (many of which are otherwise thought to be safe).

Aside from literal, immediate existential threats to one's physical self, which I'm aware you weren't likely referencing, there are too equally harmful ideas out there, and likewise, right here at home (in the U.S.), which are unfortunately allowed to exist and be circulated over social media, etc, but that's obviously known as freedom of speech, which clearly works both ways, so there's that.

In a perfect free market world, these actions by Google/facebook would result in other companies taking more market share.

In a perfect free market world, I would shit money.

I know some people who would argue that certain conservative views, like banning muslims for example, indirectly leads to more violence against muslims by racists. The argument is that it normalizes views that muslims are bad which in turn makes violence against them seem okay. So it's not that they want to silence people that disagree with them, but that they want to prevent people from being physically armed by idiots.

I don't agree with this viewpoint, I'm just explaining it.
