It's been all over the radio up here that Masai and Casey plan on using demar at the point this year and put Kyle off the ball. Not sure how effective a look it will be but I suppose it's worth a shot

Not really.

DeMar isn't a good shooter, but he's quick and explosive and Lowry can actually space the floor.

It might work, since the floor spacing will be better.

And you think derprozan is going to magically learn how to run the point?

He improved his passing game a lot last year. He already had good handles. There are situations where defenders could still bother him, but he worked on facing double teams etc..

The league is into the point forward thing, and maybe there's something about using his size they like.

My 1st instinct wouldn't have been to develop him as a PG though.

He wouldn't run it full time lol, but the reports are saying they plan to give him more opportunities to handle the ball and run the offense himself especially with fewer bodies in the back court now.

I mean, you act like DeRozan is a horrible passer now or something. He looks like he has improved in that area quite a bit last season, and has been good for a consistent 4 dimes per game in recent seasons. This coming season we could possibly see 5 dimes a game?

Exactly. When lowry was out he was averaging like 4.6 which is respectable. There plan is more so just for him to bring the ball ip and make the initial pass so that the ball moves. For the longest time the first pass was to him and he would just go into iso mode and eat the clock up. There hope now is for him to be making that first pass and then either getting the open shot or getting it back to him late in the clock where he can go to work in iso if that shot doesn't open up.

Also Kyle off the ball can space the floor a lot more then demar can since he can shoot the 3 and with Cj miles and Ibaka on the floor as well this should theoretically give demar more space to work

If this means DeRozan shoots and isos less then it's definitely a good decision.
