I finally got OBS set up on my computer, and got a Blue Snowball microphone with a cheap pop filter to record. Did my first official stream in which I play a bit of Diablo II as a Necro Summoner! Probably have to work on being a bit louder; I know I'm a naturally quiet person :\

Now that I have a feel for the setup, I decided to start doing a stream series of my favorite game, Final Fantasy IV.

Unfortunately, what happened was that I started playing for an hour, listened to the playback, and realized the in game volume ridiculously overpowered my voice. Guess I'm gonna have to redo the first part at a later time

Well, this time around I got the sound to be a lot better, though it still probably needs some work. I love playing this game and look forward to completing the online playthrough of it

I improved the audio quality of my streaming by a fair bit. Figured out how to get the audio levels balanced better so I don't sound as quiet, and got the in game sound effects to be audible. Also picked up a subscriber from this stream! Streaming this playthrough is just as much a growing experience for me as it is for the characters in the actual game. I definitely felt more comfortable this time and it's starting to just come more naturally. Probably helps that I know this particular game inside and out, so it's easy to explain / react accordingly. I've been naming characters after The Drunken Peasants podcast, which is awesome and you should watch it The DP named characters have led to some unintentionally hilarious moments for anyone familiar with the podcast. It's been a long time since I got to play the actual SNES version of the game, so it's a great feeling to relive my original experiences with the SNES sound and graphics.

Put another 2.5 hours into this playthrough. I'm a bit disappointed that I didn't quite get the audio levels where I wanted them. It sounds way more balanced when I'm playing versus when I'm listening to it after it uploads. Will have to just try to get a better feel for it and adjust accordingly. I did at least succeed in making myself more audible. Maybe it was just me, but it felt like there was a lot more dead air than before, likely due to the more grindy nature of this section of the game. My favorite part by far though is still "how the fuck did Cid build / hide a multi million dollar airship in a secret underground hangar that he presumably also built / hid?"

2 more hours of the game down. We've officially crossed the halfway point of the game! I thought I had the game audio figured out this time, but no, It's just so hard to get balanced right >.< It sounded great on my phone when I was testing it at the beginning of the stream, but apparently I can't judge it by that. On the plus side, I did have some people in the chat and got to talk to them a bit. It was nice to see a fellow fan of the game pop in, plus I got to plug Billy the Fridge (he's funny as hell and is pretty badass at freestyle raps :p). There wasn't as much this time around to crack jokes about; I think I ended up focusing on the gameplay a bit more this time. Unfortunately, this was a kinda long, dull, grindy section of the game, but on the plus side, we have some of the more fun sidequest areas coming up. Best part was definitely getting to see Cid jump off of the 'USS Hell in a Cell', all the way onto the Spanish announcer table (ie, the ground :p). Just throw the fucking bomb off the side; you don't need to carry it to the ground yourself! x'D

I'm on vacation for the next few days so I wanted to squeeze one more hour or so in before leaving. Still haven't found the perfect audio setup yet, but I think this is closer. May need to turn the music down one or two clicks :\ There wasn't as much to talk about during this one; the Tower of Babil is long and battles tend to drag on. I had to cut the stream a bit short for personal reasons; fortunately managed to get to a decent stopping point before ending it. I'm honestly not sure what I would do if I had to take a 5 minute break; I don't have any sort of intermission thingy set up. Possibly something I should look into.

Felt so good to get back to the game after being gone for a week. The music / voice volume is almost perfect, maybe need to turn down the music by 1 more click, but this is definitely a much better balance. Just started one of the more frustrating areas of the game, but it should be getting better soon. We did finally get to see Vadim in the Applebee's with a bunch of chicks whipping out their titties

I think I finally got the hang of this streaming business. Perfect audio this time, was really comfortable playing / speaking, and I even had some chat visitors to converse with. This part of the game is normally pretty irritating, but I was really enjoying it this time around. Guessing there will be 1-2 more sessions before the game ends.

It was finally time to destroy us some giant robots and start the trek into the core of the moon. Unfortunately, I realized too late that I missed doing one of the optional sidequests! Towards the end, I also started working on my promise to obtain an Adamant Armor to show off how badass it is. It's probably gonna take a while, but at least I know the party is capable of killing the damn Pink Puffs.
