yep. i know a bunch of guys went to indiana hauling new camper trailers. one bought a 6.0 powerstroke and lost his ass when it laid down on him.

campers are a great way to start with like a 2500 gasser, but with a diesel I would definitely suggest a wedge and hauling cars. Those bedless 5500s in the top pic, I make 270$ a piece taking them 140 miles 1 way up into Fort Wayne Indiana from the rail yard down here in Elwood, Illinois.

OTR is terrible .. sleeping in a truck, showering at dirty truck stops, eating whatever ''healthy'' food you can find and being gone away all the time?

I would honestly recommend anything other than OTR. Truck driving in general isn't a glamorous job, it's fun at first but then it takes it's toll.

but like JDH said, if you are set on doing it, then yes you'll have to get the experience somewhere, usually with bottom of the barrel companies.
