The latest firmware dl is a .bin file. What do I use to open/install a file of such a type?

You burn it to a CD or DVD depending on size. Then it most probably just installs from the CD.

.bin and .cue files together are just like an ISO

So I don't need additional programs like winrar to open it?

I would just call their tech support 800 number...

http://www.linksys.com/us/support/

As for instructions for upgrading the firmware...they are in the User Guide, I linked above...on page 21.

No. You log into the router, go to the firmware update page, and when it asks you to choose the upgrade file, you point it at the .BIN.

I'll try this out.

Update: Okay, I found the firmware update page and I chose the .bin file, but upgrading failed for some reason.

Yeah. I didn't realize that until I read the user guide.

Who woulda thunk? :)
